My Top 5 Most Read Authors

I’ve been (trying) to organize my books in Goodreads by adding “bookshelf” for example; I created a “Shadowhunter Books” shelf so I could put in 1 folder all the books I read about Shadowhunters. I also added a “John Green books” shelf obvi for all of John Green books. And then I realized I’ve read a lot of Cassandra Clare’s books. Last year, I don’t know much anything about her, but as of today, she’s my most-read author!

Then I counted all the books I read since Twilight and group them by Authors until I come up with my Top 5 Most Read Authors.

(I included short stories/e-novellas in my count and counted them as 1 per short story/e-novella.)

TOP 5 MOST READ AUTHORS:

#5. John Green and Stephenie Meyer (6 books)

John and Stephenie are 2 of my favorite authors and I’m glad they are on this list.

John Green Books I Read: ALL
1.       Looking for Alaska
2.       Paper Towns
3.       An Abundance of Katherines
4.       Will Grayson Will Grayson (co-written with David Levithan)
5.       Let It Snow (collab with Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle)
6.       The Fault in Our Stars

Stephenie Meyer’s Books I Read: ALL
1.       Twilight
2.       New Moon
3.       Eclipse
4.       Breaking Dawn
5.       The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
6.       The Host

I also read the draft of Midnight Sun which was posted on her website but I didn’t count that because it wasn’t published. (Up to this day, I’m still wishing it will be published.)

Tfios, Twilight saga and The Host are included in my most favorite books of all time. =) Which is another story. =)

#4. Pittacus Lore, Lauren Oliver and JK Rowling (7 books)

Pittacus Lore books I read:
1.       I Am Number Four
2.       The Power of Six
3.       The Rise of Nine
4.       The Fall of Five

Short stories –
5.       Sarah’s  Journal
6.       Six’s Legacy
7.       Nine’s Legacy

I haven’t read A LOT of short stories (I think there are about 4 short stories I have yet to read) of The Lorien Legacies series. It’s not THAT interesting so I always procrastinate on picking it up. But I decided it’s okay if I haven’t read it.

There’s a next book in The Lorien Legacies (and hopefully the last one) will come out on August, the title is The Revenge of Seven and I’ll read it for sure.

Lauren Oliver books I read:
1.       Delirium
2.       Pandemonium
3.       Requiem
4.       Panic

Short Stories of Delirium series:
5.       Hannah
6.       Alex
7.       Annabel

I adore Pandemonium and that’s all I adore of all of Lauren’s books. So far. LOLZ

And of course,

JK Rowling books I read:
Harry Potter Series!!!
Do I need to enumerate all? I’d like to!
1.       The Sorcerer’s Stone
2.       The Chamber of Secrets
3.       The Prisoner of Azkaban
4.       The Goblet of Fire
5.       The Order of the Phoenix
6.       The Half-Blood Prince
7.       The Deathly Hallows.

I haven’t read the following JK books but sure it’s in my TBR list and I will read them someday =):
·         The Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them
·         The Tales of Beetle the Bard
·         The Casual Vacancy
·         The Cuckoo’s Calling (as Robert Galbraith)
·         The Silkworm (also as Robert Galbraith)

And yeah, I’m a cliché, I’m like everybody else because my favorite series of all time is the Harry Potter series.

#3. Sophie Kinsella (11 books)

Sophie’s books I read:
1.       Confessions of a Shopaholic
2.       Shopaholic Takes Manhattan
3.       Shopaholic Ties the Knot
4.       Shopaholic and Sister
5.       Shopaholic and Baby
6.       Mini Shopaholic
7.       Cocktails for Three (as Madeleine Wickham, her real name if you haven’t known yet)
8.       Can you keep a secret?
9.       Twenties Girl
10.   Undomestic Goddess
11.   I’ve Got Your Number

Kinsella’s books are like Rom Com movies. TBH before YA, my go-to genre was Chic Lit, back when it was still a genre. LOLZ.
I like Sophie’s books but I got to a point where I grew tired of all the lies of her characters. It’s always the same, the narrator always have the same issue with telling the truth that often lead to misunderstandings and chaos and then we have a story to tell. I haven’t read Wedding Night, her latest book.
But I probably read Shopaholic to the Stars which will come out on October, the 7th book in the Shopaholic series.

#2. Meg Cabot (12 books)

When I was in college I really really like to start reading books aside from school books but I don’t have the money to buy books. And I don’t know about libraries, for all I know they just store school books.
So I made a list of all the books I want to read then. (I lost the list, too bad.) Princess Diaries series was included in the list.

Meg Cabot’s books I read:
1.       Princess Diaries (Book #1)
2.       Princess In the Spotlight (Book #2)
3.       Princess In Love (Book #3)
4.       Princess in Waiting (Book #4)
5.       Valentine Princess (Book #4.5)
6.       Princess in Pink (Book #5)
7.       Project Princess
8.       Princess In Training (Book #6)
9.       Princess Present (Book #6.5)
10.   Princess On the Brink (Book #8)
11.   Princess Forever (Book #10)
12.   Princess Diaries Book : A Princess Guide…

I haven’t read book 7 & 9, I’m not sure if I’m going to read it in the near future. I really really like this series. I enjoyed Mia’s journey  and I had a mourning period after I read the last book. So I’m thrilled when I learned that Meg Cabot will be writing a sequel (kind of) to the Princess Diaries series, I’m not sure if it’s just one book. But it will be like after so years since Princess Diaries, she called it Adult version of Princess Diaries. I don’t know what that means but I’m super excited. =D

And last but obvi not the least because she has the most number of books I read.

#1. Cassandra Clare (17 books)

If you ask me in the early part of 2013 how many Cassandra Clare books I read out of 7 published (CP2 not included), I’d say none.

After a year (this year), ask me again, I’d answer, 17 and I’m currently reading and finishing The Bane Chronicles which consist of 10 short stories/e-novellas.

WHAT.

Cassandra Clare books I read:
1.       City of Bones
2.       City of Ashes
3.       City of Glass
4.       City of Fallen Angels
5.       City of Lost Souls
6.       City of Heavenly Fire
7.       Clockwork Angel
8.       Clockwork Prince
9.       Clockwork Princess
10.   What Really Happens in Peru
11.   The Runaway Queen
12.   Vampires, Scones and Edmund Herondale
13.   The Midnight Heir
14.   The Rise of Hotel Dumort
15.   Saving Raphael Santiago
16.   The Fall of Hotel Dumort
17.  What to Buy The Shadowhunter Who Has Everything (And Who You're Not Officially Dating)

I included only the published ones, and I counted each short story in The Bane Chronicles because each story was a story of its own and released separately although a printed compiled copy will be released in the last quarter of 2014 if I remember it correctly. Of course aside from these, I also read almost all (if not all) the “Extras and Excerpts” from her website www.cassandraclare.com and her Tumblr posts where she answers to fans which is awesome and nice of her.

There are 3 new series about Shadowhunters that will come out in the coming years. And I realized how old I’m gonna be when the last book of TWP will be released. And it got me thinking, will I still read a Cassandra Clare book when I’m 35? Most probably yes, I’ll still read Cassandra Clare’s books. =D

Oh. There’s a Simon Lewis chronicles that will be out sometime, like TBC kind of thing.

I’m currently reading TBC #9, The Last Stand of New York Institute?

Then I will finish other TBC:
·         The Course of True Love

Cassie Clare’s books TBR:
·         Shadowhunter’s Codex
·         TDA (3 books; 1st book on 2015)
·         TLH (3 books)
·         TWP (3 books)

Thanks for reading this! =)
