CONFESSION OF A 1D FAN

*In Harry’s voice* There are 5 things that I love most about One Direction.
And these are also the reasons why I became a fan, why I’m a fan, why I’m still a fan and most probably why I will be their fan forever.

10 YEARS OF TWILIGHT AND MY READING JOURNEY (SO FAR)

Whenever Twilight was opened up, I always remember my reading journey because Twilight played a big part to it.
Join me as I relieve it again.

I haven’t read Twilight on its release date.
I haven’t even known Twilight until Summit turned it into film.
I haven’t watched the movie on release day.
I haven’t even started reading Twilight until days before I was sure I will be watching the movie.

I have no idea how Twilight will impact me as a reader.

QUEEN OF SHADOWS Thoughts and Feels

We are now in the 4th book (out of 6) of the Throne of Glass series and so much have happened. So much that ToG felt like a lifetime away but in Erilea's world, it was only 9 months that have passed.

I don't know where to start because this book was a full of happenings and problems and adventures. What I'm sure of is that this post will spoil you the WHOLE series. I recommend this series - it was such an action-pack filled fantasy and adventure (and ships, if you're into that).

I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars rating on Goodreads. Initial rating was actually 5 stars because the ending was amazing but after hearing and reading some reviews and reflecting my own thoughts and feelings based on what I've read and peoples' reaction toward the book, I changed it to 4 stars.

First and foremost, I just want to just put this one out in the bag: this series has turned into ship wars. I HATE THAT. I'm disappointed by what the author did to the story that it centered on the ships when they have a bigger fish to fry. I just - I DIDN'T BUY THIS AND READ THIS SERIES BECAUSE OF THE SHIP/S. I'M HERE FOR THE STORY.

Random Bookish Things

What/who got you into reading?
Before it was just the idea of being a bookworm, I really like to be called a reader/bookworm even though I haven’t read that much book then and I’m not serious about it; or I paid no attention to any bookish things before. I read quite a few but it’s here and there. I remember Twilight lit the “spark” for my reading habits because after that I just want to read and read and read.

Your first favorite book?

I’ll say Twilight got me so bad. *in a good way*

Your current favorite book?

I have tons. But the recent addition to my ever growing favorite books are Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson, Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas and The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.

Favorite book of all time?
A lot. Harry Potter, The Infernal Devices, tfios, Ready Player One, Love, Rosie, The Host, etc. Sorry, it’s really too many =)

INSURGENT Thoughts and Feels About Movie Adaptation

First and foremost..
*SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER FOR BOTH BOOK AND MOVIE*

I’ve watched Insurgent last night and I was totally shocked with how they adopted my favorite book in the series.

I get how book two in a series could be dragging because it usually is. Book two usually isn’t the strong one in a series either because it’s just a follow up of the first book, or it could lead to a totally different plot that we aren’t used to (in book 1). I guess, that’s Insurgent for me. But either way, it was my favorite book because I got to see different factions when Tris and Four and the some of the survivors of the simulation attack visited each faction even the hide-out of the factionless. But yeah, I hated Tris for almost half of the book but she came right through in the end.

The movie was horrible. I’m sorry but it really was. I mean, the effects were on point, the graphics, the animation and the cinematography were done well, the acting were okay, but the plot was ridiculous. It was very different from the book. To me, as a fan, it went the wrong way.

How it went bad to terrible:

THIS IS HOW I WANT TO REMEMBER OTRA MANILA DAY1 20150321

2014 Advanced Ticket Selling

Less than a year ago, MMI Live announced that 1D will have a concert in Manila in 2015. Almost one month after the announcement was the first day of the ticket selling. The hysteria of the fans was unbelievable, I'd know because I saw it and I was one of them. There was an advanced ticket selling that will open at 8am before it opened nationwide at 2pm. The night before the ticket selling day, fans started lining up already, camping with their friends or family outside MoA Arena (ticket selling venue). When I learned it I was anxious and I also want to camp because I badly need to have a ticket for their concert. Like its a need lol despite the hefty price of tickets. I want to camp out after my office but my mom and my aunt didn't allow me and I remember them saying, "if youre meant to watch them, you will get tickets", I remember I was like, "I need it to be meant to be". I was anxious I felt like a teenager eventhough I was 26! LOL

THE IMPORTANT THING IS YOU HAD A GREAT TIME: MY OTRASG EXPERIENCE

I’m contemplating on writing a blog about my first ever One Direction concert experience because I’m not sure if I will be able to form coherent words and thoughts about it but then never mind, I’ll write about it anyway for documentation.
Official OTRA 2015 Poster from 1DHQ
I’ve been a fan for 3 years now (One Direction is in their 5th year as a band) and it’s the first time they will have a concert in South East Asia and there is no way I will miss it. I’ve got tickets for their Singapore and Manila (Day 1 only) shows since last year!  Singapore is the first country they will visit in SEA, next is Bangkok then Hong Kong, Manila and last in Indonesia before they will perform in South Africa.

This post will be about my OTRA Singapore experience.

Top 10 Favorite Reads In 2014

10. The Last Olympian (Book 5, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) by Rick Riordan
I’ve been procrastinating into finishing this series but when I get to the last book, I was blown away by its awesomeness.

9. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
I love how surprised I was when I read this book. First, I didn’t know it’s fantasy. Second, I didn’t expect it to be hilarious (it was so). And third, I didn’t know it will get better as the story goes.
Fast paced. Check
Funny dialogs. No dull moments. Check. Check.
Character development. Check
Plot. Check. Plot twist. Double check.
I can’t wait to read its second book!
